Hotel Scandic Kødbyen, also known as Hotel Firkanten, is one of Copenhagen’s largest conference hotels with 370 rooms and 11 meeting and conference rooms.
We have carried out subfloors and seamless coatings in the newly constructed underground parking garage under the hotel, as well as the design of the hotel’s 161 parking spaces. The work is carried out in collaboration with Einar Kornerup.
Areo Subfloors
Floating mortar/thin plaster subfloors have been cast on the two levels of the underground parking garage.
Custom-made primer
On level 2, a DPM red/yellow custom-made primer is applied. The primer acts as a moisture barrier and allows for seamless flooring on moisture-sensitive subfloors. It also ensures that the coating adheres better to the substrate.
Areo Cardeck ID
Finally, Areo Cardeck ID 3 mm has been installed throughout the underground parking garage. Areo Cardeck ID is a durable polyurethane coating that is waterproof, crack-bridging and slip-resistant.
The coating is available in different colors. Scandic Hotel in Kødbyen has chosen the color Mid Grey for the roadway and Dark Grey for the parking spaces. The dark color of the parking bays makes any spills from the cars invisible, while the anti-slip surface increases safety for users.
Finally, the parking spaces have been recorded and numbered.
ramps
The ramps are straightened with mortar and Areo Cardeck HD is used as a coating. Areo Cardeck HD is a durable, crack-bridging, UV-resistant polyurethane coating. The surface is specially developed for ramps and curves because the Dynagrib construction makes the surface more durable and more slip-resistant and minimizes the sound of squealing tires.
