Claus Holm – experienced calculator and true lover of life
Originally from Aarhus, he loves traveling and going to concerts – and he’s a food lover, quiet lover of life and dedicated AGF fan. However, he only recently became a citizen of Silkeborg. Claus Holm moved to the city in 2022, but has been working in Silkeborg Municipality for many years – and at Areo since 2015.
Experienced, honorable and decent
Claus is well-liked and respected – both as a colleague and as a person. He is known for his professional thoroughness, his orderliness and his orderly approach to tendering:
“Better to take everything into account and get a more realistic price than to bluff and set prices artificially low to get the job,” he says.
When Claus started at Areo, there were only 10 installers.
“Yes, back then we could be around one meeting table. Today we are over 50,” he says.
From salesperson to Sigma specialist
Claus started his career as a traveling salesman – among others at Euromaster, Garant stores, X-design and Chriscoating A/S – but gradually moved into internal sales and calculation via the flooring supplier Hewikut A/S. This was the start of his time at Areo, where he is today an expert in the rather advanced calculation system Sigma and knows the case numbers of the largest construction cases in his sleep.
Sales Director Michael Hougaard is extremely satisfied with this, and he adds:
“When Claus was hired, he was afraid that there wasn’t enough to count on. He later learned that there is!”
And Claus agrees:
“You won’t get bored here. It’s bustling, and I’m almost always happy when I’m at work.”
He has never wanted to leave – Areo is the right place for him, he says.
Family, football and a ruptured Achilles tendon
In his private life, Claus lives with his lifelong partner, Lone. Together they have two adult children: Andreas from 1996 and Laura from 1999. He is a member of the Danish Beer Enthusiasts and chairman of the local homeowners’ association. In his spare time, he goes spinning and plays paddle tennis – albeit with a short break while he rehabilitates a ruptured Achilles tendon.
“But I will come back strong,” he promises.
