Pumping out floating concrete and floating mortar with a pump truck saves customers time and money. Foam concrete is also fantastic when it comes to fire safety, acoustics and general noise reduction.
Areo A/S has great success using a pump truck for laying foam concrete subfloors around the country. Most recently in Billund, where a large construction project requires the laying of foam concrete and floating mortar across 20,000 square meters.
The advantage of laying the floor with a pump truck is huge: It would have taken 10 times longer to lay it by hand.
In addition, the drying time is shorter on foam concrete and the density is low, so it is an obvious choice when building at height.



Floors finished in record time
When using Areo’s new pump truck, foam concrete and floating mortar can be laid out at high speed and is only walked on lightly by the floor fitters who assist the pump truck and hold the hose.
This means that a subfloor can be laid in a room of 200 square meters in one hour.
After this, it only takes about a week before it is thoroughly dry. Then it’s ready for the next layer of flooring, such as a floating mortar like Ronasil, which is a gypsum-containing residual product from Danish waste incinerators. Like the foam concrete, the floating mortar can be pumped out of the pump truck and allowed to dry quickly so you can get on with the building project.

Fire safety and acoustics at their best
Another great advantage of foam concrete is that it provides excellent fire protection between floors. Put basically, it acts as a fire wall in the floor. Foam concrete also excels at providing particularly good acoustics. It acts as a sound absorber because the concrete is filled with air bubbles that absorb the sound instead of throwing it back into the room and causing reverberation. This means that if you use the airy foam concrete as a subfloor in an office building, you will experience less noise nuisance than when using pure concrete.

Benefits of choosing self-leveling liquid mortar
- Up to 90 tons of liquid mortar can be applied per day
- Drying time on dry substrate approx. 1 mm per day. Drying time is of course dependent on proper airflow and the right climate conditions.
- The floor can be walked on after approx. 2-10 hours depending on the thickness of the layer
