Maybe you know it? The building has “settled” and the concrete floor is cracking. Moisture and dirt can penetrate and cause damage. It’s all about getting it fixed in time so the damage doesn’t become permanent, and preferably a little quickly so the renovation project doesn’t stand still for too long.

At Areo, we specialize in handling such challenges in commercial buildings.

With 3 effective methods, we solve the problem for you so you can move on quickly

1. We inject when the floor is screwed. For example, after water leaks or poorly poured concrete. When concrete cracks, becomes porous or affected by water, it’s crucial to stop it in time before damage develops. We inject using valves, also called nipples, which we drill down around the leaks. We then pump either epoxy or polyurethane through until the voids are filled or the concrete is “bonded” together.

2. For larger jobs, carbon fiber poles are the preferred solution. For example, if the casting shell or settlement damage is so large that moisture can penetrate or if there are problems with the installation of finished floors. We cut grooves crosswise and lower the carbon fiber rods as an extra reinforcement of the crack. The carbon fiber rods are then cast in place with epoxy.

3. For smaller cracks, groove cutting is an obvious method. Here we cut a triangular groove, which is filled with epoxy or polyurethane to bind the concrete together and prevent the damage from developing.

Cheaper than replacing the entire concrete structure

Repairing cracks rather than replacing the entire concrete structure is a cost-effective method when it comes to settlement damage. By sealing the cracks correctly, we can restore the original strength and function of the structure. It’ll be faster and cheaper in the long run, as you can get on with the renovation work immediately.
